Cyborg 007 is a mischievous young cyborg who has the ability to shapeshift into anything.

Unlike his manga counterpart, who was an adult, this incarnation is a child as part of a producer's mandate that children would have someone to "relate to", and is a carry-over of his redesign from the 1960s animated films.

AbilitiesEdit

Cyborg 007 is able to shapeshift his body into any object or animal at will. This is ofter used for comedic effect in this series in a style akin to American Saturday morning cartoons. In addition to this, 007 can use his acting skills to impersonate people.

NotesEdit

  • Cyborg 007 is voiced by a young Machiko Soga. 25 years later, she would be better known by Power Rangers fans and Super Sentai fans as Witch Bandora from Zyuranger and the stock footage of her performance was used for Rita Repulsa in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
  • When 007 transforms into a mouse, he bears a resemblance to Jerry from the American MGM Tom & Jerry cartoons.
  • The young version of 007 would last be seen in the 1977 "Roman Album" by Tokuma Shoten, that had commemorated the 1960s anime continuity.
  • While the team members were mostly unnamed in the actual films and series, a tie-in comic and drama record of "Confrontation in Antarctica" gave his name as "Bond" in the character line-up. Any intended given name for Bond is unknown, although the James Bond inspiration to 007's character may lend a hint, along with "James Bond" being one of the early considered names for 007 shown in books such as Introduction to Manga and Cyborg 009 a la cult.
    • However, the actual model sheets for the film and TV series show the "Great Britain" name intact, along with the other team members' civilian names. It is possible Ishinomori himself may have used the "Bond" name to differentiate the character from his classic appearance, or it being an oversight derived from the early manga settings sheet.
