Production-I

Production I.G. (株式会社プロダクション・アイジー Kabushiki-gaisha Purodakushon Ai Jī?) is an offshoot of anime studio Tatsunoko founded in 1987. It is one of the most influential anime studios in Japan having created the animated adaptations of the Ghost in the Shell franchise. They are the leading pioneers in digital animation and digital effects for anime. As a result, most studios consider I.G. to be an "Animation laboratory" where creators can experiment with different techniques featuring CGI and digital animation.

The studio has also collaborated with Hollywood on projects such as providing animation for Quentin Tarintino's Kill Bill films and consulting on the 2017 Ghost in the Shell live action film starring Scarlett Johansson.

In 2012, the company animated the film 009 Re:Cyborg and co-animated Cyborg 009: Call of Justice through their I.G. Port brand Signal.MD.
